The Emergency Call with automatic transmission of the vehicle location is a function which guides rescue services quickly and efficiently to the vehicle. The BMW emergency call function transmits the exact location and relevant vehicle data. This saves rescue services valuable time, because it does away with the difficult and error-prone task of trying to describe the exact location of an accident on the phone.
The emergency call can be made either manually or automatically. The emergency call button or the BMW Assist menu is used to manually establish a voice connection to the Call Centre. An automatic emergency call will be made whenever an airbag has deployed. In both cases a voice connection with a Response Centre is established. At the same time, BMW Assist automatically transmits the exact GPS position data to the Response Centre, which will immediately initiate appropriate rescue measures. |
